Joe and Brigitte

Joe and I have been waiting very patiently for Emma to get big enough for her life jacket so we can take her out on the boat.  Finally on July 3rd we decided that she was just big enough that we felt secure about taking her out.  We put a portable bassinet under the front dash of the boat and once we put her in there she immediately fell asleep.  We are pleased to announce that we have a boat baby.

We also took her onto the sandbar for a little while, but it isn’t easy keeping the sun off of her, so she was only out uncovered for a few minutes.  The last thing I want to deal with is a sunburned infant.

At Emma’s 2 month checkup she was 11 lbs 8 oz, and 22 1/2 inches long.  I today we weighed her and she was 12 lbs 8 oz, that’s 1 pound in two weeks. 

To give you an idea of how much she has grown in 10 weeks we have taken a couple of pictures with her next to a stuffed animal so you can see for yourself.
