Joe and Brigitte

I know it’s been a while since we posted but we wanted to wait until the legal risk period was over to post an update.  So about 1:15 today Emma’s birth parents went to court and signed the TPR (termination of parental rights), which means that they can no longer change their minds and decide to parent Emma.  So 6 months from now we (Joe, Emma and I) go to court and finalize the adoption and we will become Emma’s parents legally. We have both sighed a very big sigh of relief after waiting on pins and needles for the past two weeks.

Joe and I have somehow been blessed with a really easy going baby (so far).  She only crys when she wants something and when she realizes you are going to take care of it she stops crying.  She is also sleeping for 4+ hours at a shot at night.  We can’t complain, but we are waiting for her to do something to make our lives difficult based on some of the stories people have told us.

Anyhow, without further ado, we are pleased to introduce Emma Rose Renee, born on May 1, 2009.

Here is our First family photo together 2 weeks ago, boy does that seem like a lifetime ago.

We are both very proud parents, and are thrilled with how this new chapter of our life is turning out.

So can you guess what the name of the baby is going to be?  I will give you a couple of hints….

1. It’s a girl

2. She has 2 middle names

3. Her name is not Danielle. (sorry Dan guess again)

Hmm, let’s see Dan wanted a prize too, how about a beer when we hold our first bbq of the year?

Joe and I are pleased to announce that sometime between now and May 19 we will be parents!  We were very excited when we found out a couple wanted to meet with us and they asked us on the spot to parent their child.  So all the information we are currently giving out is…….

It’s a GIRL!!!  She isn’t born yet, but we are expecting she will be born sometime in the next month or so.  Yes, we do have a name all picked out, but we aren’t telling anyone just yet.

Other than that, we will all have to wait until she is born for the rest.  We will of course update as soon as we have any more news, and will try to answer any questions that anyone has…..
