On our most recent trip to Minneapolis we decided to see how Emma liked the zoo, she had a fantastic time!  We have been managing to keep pretty busy this summer with trips to the lake and Minneapolis.  We did find out a few weeks ago that Emma still really enjoys being on boats.  She is happy to nap on the boat as well, so we can be on the water for most of the day and she still stays on schedule with meals and naps. 

On the adoption front, we haven’t heard anything.  The last I heard was nobody had even looked at our profile, so that’s about all I can tell you at this point.  We will of course update if we hear of anything.

4th of July 2010

Yesterday Joe, Emma and I decided to return from the lake and attend my cousin Lindsay’s baby shower that was being held in my parents backyard.  It turns out that Emma decided to take her first serious steps and then kept on walking right there in front of most of the family.  It was wonderful to be able to experience that with everyone there.  I am guessing that she will be a full time walker before too long.

Can you believe our baby is 1 now??!!  It has been quite a year with so many milestones it’s hard to keep up.

She isn’t quite walking yet, but will be sooner than Joe and I are ready for.  She also isn’t talking yet, I believe she isn’t going to talk until she can say full sentences.  What she is doing is chasing after the cat, dancing and constantly getting into trouble, in other words she is very ‘busy’ one year old.  I am sure she will continue to keep us on our toes.

Holy buckets, time sure has been flying by!  Today is our 4th anniversary, I cannot believe we have been married that long.   There have been a lot of ups and downs in the last four years, but I wouldn’t trade any of it for the world.

Emma’s first birthday is coming up in just over a week, it’s amazing we feel like just yesterday we brought her home from the hospital.  Then again, it’s hard to imagine her being so tiny and helpless again.  She has had so many milestones in the past year it’s hard to keep up.  As of right now she isn’t walking, but she could be walking any day.  For her sake I am excited at the prospect of her walking, for my sake I am scared to think about how much stuff she will be getting into.  She is certainly a handful, but a joy to be around

I guess in other news, Joe and I have decided that because having Emma around is such a blast we want to start all over again.  As of late March 2010 we are officially a “waiting family” again.  We are just waiting for the call that somebody wants to meet with us so we can complete our family through adoption.  Our hope is to have another child close in age to Emma so they can hopefully grow up together and be friends/playmates.
